My name is Braeden, this video is about inspiring you to make a champion out of yourself. I talk about how there is more to being a champion than just winning a gold medal on a sports team or getting good grades in school. Everyone has the ability to be a champion, you just have to let it out. I also talk about how the world would be a much better place if everyone tried a little harder at pursueing their goals and trying their best! A crowd of 10019 was on hand at the KFC Yum! Center as the Gold Team defeated the White Team 126-122 in the 39th annual Derby Festival Basketball Classic presented by papajohns.com. Indiana recruit Cody Zeller scored 16 points and grabbed nine rebounds and was named Gold Team MVP. Louisville signee Angel Nunez scored 16 points and grabbed five rebounds and was named MVP of the White Team. Louisville recruit Chane Behanan was named the “Fan Favorite” in text-message voting by spectators in attendance at the game. The game featured five McDonald’s All-Americans, three University of Louisville recruits, two Western Kentucky University recruits and two Indiana University signees. At halftime, it was announced that the team of Cody Zeller and Aaron Cosby won Thursday night’s 2-on-2 finals at Bellarmine University’s Knights Hall during the Derby Festival Night of the Future Stars. The KFC Yum! Center was a terrific venue to showcase some of the best players in the country. My nephew; Braeden, and his team the Airdrie Predatorz were on Scotiabank Hockey Tonight ahead of the games on Hockey Night in Canada. Braeden is the player who says “Live, to your host”! Great job B!!

Braden is Autistic, and for the past months has been rigorously studying the alphabet with his mother Cindy, father Jake, his grandmother, myself, and his (and his brother Zack’s) team of Early Autism therapists. Yesterday, while Cindy was eating a twizzler, he walked up to her, and at four years old, spoke for the first time :”mom, candy?” Thank God.

Special Olympics BC Softball Tournament in Coquitlam June 5 and June 6, 2010 SOBC Richmond entered one team of 13 players that was classified in a higher division than we normally play. They played in the “B” division and won all their games to take home the 1st place trophy. Playing on this team, we had David Swan, Aquil, Michael Li, Vincent Li, Braden Webb, Braeden Pawer, Keith Miller, Salaudin, Kris Cohen, Ian DeVries, Lisa Hunter, Robert English and Andrew Weale. We are loaned 4 players to Delta so they can enter a team, and this team took the 1st place trophy in the C Division. Players playing for Delta were Ken Frizell, Kevin Parmenter, Dan Perrault and Ryan Stewart. Finally, we entered 6 of our players in the Skills Development Competition on June 5. The players compete in 4 skills, throwing, batting running bases and fielding and are scored overall in their level. Jason McPherson and Peter Weber took 1st place in their divisions, Rosemary Groenewegen and Gary Wong took 2nd place in their respective divisions, Mercedeh Khatami took 3rd in her division and Scott Ellison got an Honorable Mention. Coaches for softball are Glen Ellison, Geoff English, Michelle Pattison, Dave Summer and Ruth Towers.
